Postdoc Opening

Investigator: Zayd Khaliq, Ph.D.
Affiliation:Cellular Neurophysiology Unit
Position Type:Postdoctoral Fellowship
Description:

Postdoctoral positions are available in the Cellular Neurophysiology Unit at NINDS.

We seek to uncover principles that govern the processing of reward and motor signaling within the dopamine system, including circuit control of basal ganglia neurons. To achieve this goal, we employ a wide array of experimental approaches including two-photon imaging techniques, electrophysiology and optogenetic circuit mapping approaches. Current projects focus on functional diversity of dopamine neurons and explore their contribution to dopamine dependent-aversive and reward behaviors.

Successful candidates will have a Ph.D/M.D. or equivalent and three (3) years or less of postdoctoral experience and at least one (1) first author publication. Candidates with experience using electrophysiological and/or imaging techniques and/or experience in animal behavior are encouraged to apply. In addition, the lab strongly encourages applications from individuals with experience or interests in imaging/recording from animals in in vivo preparations.

Application Instructions:

Please send a letter describing your long-term goals and interests, CV, and the names of three (3) references to:
