Description:

A postdoctoral position is immediately available for studies in neurophysiology focusing on the role of voltage-gated potassium channels in regulating hippocampal circuit development and function.  The candidate will be working with a team of highly interactive electrophysiologists and molecular biologists at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institutes of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD), National Institues of Health (NIH).  


Skills and Qualifications:
•    PhD and/or M.D in Neuroscience or related discipline
•    Demonstrated expertise in standard and advanced neuronal electrophysiology recordings and familiarity with rodent surgical procedures
•    Preferred skills, though not required, include experience in mouse models,  imaging and  morphological analyses, and animal behavior experiments
•    Interest in neuronal and circuit development, synaptic physiology and behavior

Successful candidates will be highly motivated, have strong work ethics and ability to work independently. Salary is commensurate with research experience and accomplishments.
